Pomeranian Festival in Santa Maria de Jetibá
Every year the town of Santa Maria de Jetibá organizes its traditional Pomeranian Festival.
To hold a festival that celebrates the traditions of these people is a natural consequence of the local culture, where 88% of the population is Pomeranian and you hear the language being spoken among children and adults, where businesses prefer to hire those who are fluent in Pomeranian since many of the elderly barely speak Portuguese.
The city decorates itself and organizes a program of traditional Pomeranian music and dance, mixed with what is available of the Brazilian cultural marketplace of forró, sertanejo, axé and samba.
The Territory of Play team followed the street parade with floats representing the various aspects of Pomeranian tradition.
